IDENTIFICATION AND LABELING
All airlines require proper identification and regulation labeling on your pet抯 crate. At Pet Express-China our labeling system exceeds industry standards and includes a clearly visible 24-hour Pet Express pager number.

Can my pets favorite toy or blanket travel with them?
Small soft toys are allowed to travel with your pet. In the event of turbulence, you do not want hard objects in the crate which may potentially cause harm. Comfort items such as some of your personal (unwashed) clothing or a familiar blanket can create a sense of security. Please note: Customs prevents natural products from travelling i.e. sheepskin or wool. Items such as bean bags, pet food, bones, and anything metal, are all strictly prohibited on flights. Important documentation not required for transport should be mailed to the receiver and not attached to travel container as separation of the documents makes it extremely difficult to trace.

How much room does my pet need in their traveling kennel?
We ensure that your pet will be able to stand, lie down and turn around. Extra space is not recommended by the airlines due to injury from possible turbulence.

How long before take-off must pets arrive at the airport?
Major airports servicing domestic flights require pets to be at the airport 180 minutes before departure. Pet Immigrant consultants will confirm with each booking the time you are required to be at the airport as well as address to ensure your pet is presented within the requirements of the airline they are travelling on. Should your pet be travelling internationally your professional sales consultant will advise all details in regards to your pet抯 movements prior to departure.

The best thing you can do to acclimate your pet for his upcoming move is to make sure he is comfortable with his crate. Start by putting treats in the crate and then progress to leaving your pet in the crate for short periods of time while you are out. This will help avoid separation anxiety and ensure a comfortable move.

Should my pet be tranquilized or sedated for the trip?
We strongly recommend against tranquilizing your pet. The American Veterinary Medical Association has explained the risks of sedation. It is possible that your pet is the rare exception to the non-sedation rule. Please read the AVMA recommendations and call us to discuss your pet抯 needs.

What if my pet needs to urinate during the flight?
We line the bottom of the crate with a thick layer of paper as well as shredded paper to absorb any in-flight accidents.

Can my pets travel together?
If they are the same species and under six months of age, they may travel together in a crate. Otherwise, each pet will have its own crate. However, they can be positioned next to each other in the aircraft.

Is it safe for pets to fly?
Air travel is as safe for pets as it is for people. Your pet will travel on the cargo deck of the aircraft. This section is both climate controlled and pressurized for your pet抯 safety and comfort, and it is on the same air circulation system as the cabin. The temperature on the ground is our main concern, and the key to safety is to time your pet抯 arrival for the coolest time of day in hot weather and the warmest time of day in cold weather. Airlines do not ship pets in extreme heat and cold.
